Tricksters and Boundary-Crossers
At a crossroads, the rules of one place loosen before the rules of the next have taken hold. Tricksters thrive there. Some carry messages, some steal, some teach through embarrassment, and some turn a closed world inside out. This collection follows boundary-crossers without treating ‘trickster’ as a single interchangeable role. Eshu belongs to Yoruba religious worlds; Hermes, Loki, Sun Wukong, and Baba Yaga each carry distinct histories and obligations. Read them side by side for the pressure they place on certainty — and for the doors that sometimes open only after the expected path has failed.
