Ame-no-Uzume

the dawn-dancer, laughter that lured the sun

fire

When the sun hid in a cave and the world went dark, Uzume danced so wildly that the gods roared with laughter and coaxed the light back out; to dream of her is to find that joy, not force, is what reopens a sealed door.

Fragments

A mirror was held to the widening crack, and the sun, seeing her own light for the first time, stepped out and could not be shut away again.
