Mnemosyne

the well of all that is remembered

water

Mnemosyne is Memory herself, mother of the Muses, whose pool the dead may drink from to keep their names; to dream of her is to walk back through the rooms of your own life and find that nothing you loved was ever truly lost.

Fragments

Nine nights the Allmother of song lay beside the king of the gods, and from that remembering the Muses were born, so that nothing beautiful would ever again go unremembered.

In the underworld two springs run side by side: from Lethe the dead drink and forget, but from her pool the wise drink deep and carry every name across the dark unbroken.
