Dreaming of falling

The falling dream is one of the most common of all, and it usually arrives when something in waking life feels unsupported — a plan, a role, a sense of footing. The body, half-asleep, translates that into the oldest fear: the ground gone.

Mythology is full of falls, and they are rarely only loss — they are thresholds. To fall is to be caught by fate, handed from one state to the next. Ask what you are gripping so hard that your dreaming self had to pry your fingers loose.

Gods of this dream
The Norns
who water the roots of fate
Kronos
the harvest king who devours his hours
The Morrígan
phantom queen, crow of the slain
Yama
the first-dead, keeper of the final road

Dream meanings are reflective, not medical or predictive. If a dream troubles you often, be gentle with yourself — and talk to someone you trust.
