Tsukuyomi rose from a washed right eye to rule the tides of night, then quarrelled with his sister-sun forever; to dream of him is to accept the distance between two lights that must never share the sky.

Since that killing his sister turns her face away, and so the moon and the sun forever chase each other across the hours, never meeting.

He killed the goddess of food for serving him a feast drawn from her own body, and from her corpse the first grains and beasts were born.
