Enlil

lord of the wind, he whose word decides

air

Enlil holds the tablet of destinies and speaks in the storm that no plea can soften; to dream of him is to feel the weight of the choices already set in motion, and to bow, or to argue, before the wind.

Fragments

His command goes out and cannot be called back; when he grew weary of the noise of men he loosed the flood, and only a whispered mercy kept the world alive.

He parted heaven from earth with a single word, then set his temple on the seam between them, so that all who climb toward the sky must pass beneath his gaze.
